Somethings are just worth waiting for

Hellloooo again my friends, hellooo .... just called to say .... somethings are just worth waiting for .....soooo are you sitting comfortably with cuppa and goodies ... yes ... then I will begin ...lol
A wayyyy tooooo many years ago ( approx 19 ish )  this wee mouse was walking our then pooch Bracken along the canal about this time of year  .... it was a glorious day and the birds were chirping away merrily ... Backen was having a good ole sniff at all the flowers and plants surrounding the path we were walking on, when I spied ..... a swan with her baby cygnets on her back ... and it was simply gorgeous to look at ... she was only a few yards away and was quite happy for us to smile and awww at her wee ones ....there was only one slight hicup in the proceedings .. no camera and no phone with a camera ( not sure they were out then either ...lol) and so the magical moment passed without it being recorded apart from in my memories .... until yesterday ....
As some of you may know I have been swan watching .... we have a pair that have built a nest and I have been trying to pop up once a week to see how things are progressing ... I even googled how long the incubation period was, as  I was worried about the length of time it was taking .... even peeps I saw on the walk were wondering the same too when we conversed at the spot near the nest ... especially after seeing her roll the eggs last weekend ....
Yesterday was a glorious May day and Master Bentley wanted to go out earlier than normal and  something made me grab my camera and take it on our walk , we stretched out our  paws towards the nest and ....... the eggs had hatched squeeeeee ..... there were at first, three bundles of grey down and then a fourth one appeared and its this wee one that is on the back of the parent having a ride .... you can't imagine how happy dancing I was to get this on film and to see it again ....even Master Bentley was impressed ... I stood there for quite a while taking photos from this angle and that angle ...lol
eventually I came home with a spring in my step and a big grin on my face to have seen it  once more and got it to show you all too ....
Even the water turtle was out again and I got a clearer shot of him ... and a wee baby robin came to say hello as well ....Bentley even posed for some photos too ....
I went back again this morning and took some more photos of the wee ones and the parents and saw moor hens and some ducklings as well .....sooo another fab photo shot day ...lol
I have been doing some stitching honest ...lol I am trying to get the border done on my LittleHouseNeedleworks .... little neighbourhood ...( i think thats its title ???) I remembered the other day that I actually won this chart on the LHN yahoo group , we were playing bingo and I won the game .... and Diane sent it to me too  :)
Well I am all packed ready for the wee holiday tomorrow with DD1 and I am looking forward to going and having some RR and taking lots of photo memories to show you :) as well as getting some stitching done on the evenings ...
I will bob the kettle back on again for you all and get the photos sorted for you to ooooo and awwwww at :)

Fantastic photos Mouse! I just love swans. I noticed the other day that there is a swan sitting on a nest so I shall keeping an eye on her! I'll have to go and look if the weather is decent tomorrow! The other one's babies are growing nicely and she has 8 ( she did have 9).

Your LHN piece is coming along well.

Enjoy your break :)

Hello Mouse!!!

So how was your vacation away with DD1? Hope that you both had a fabulous
time and excellent weather for your adventures ... and took lots and lots of
photos. Can't wait to see them.

As always I love seeing all the pictures that you took ... and most especially
the ones of the downy darlings .... the baby swans. The pictures of Jr riding
on it's mother's back are just adorable and heart meltingly cute! What a
great opportunity for you to happen a second time.

The pictures of Bentley show him off to great advantage. Such a handsome
fella. The others of various flora and fauna are just as amazing and fun too.
I don't recall ever seeing a picture of a baby Robin before so thank you for that.

You're almost done with LHN Neighbourhood and it looks amazing! I've got
that in my stash and hope to get around to it someday. Beautiful colours
and I love LHN house styles and ... oh, those sheep!!

Cheers!!
