Flying needles and sticky tape ..lol

Hi folks hope this finds you all well and enjoying this wonderful sunshine we have been blessed with these last few days . I'm writing this while all my windows are open, the washing is flapping in the wee breeze that's about and I've  got some peace and quiet ..lol :)
well where do i start ????? I have finally caught up to where Abi had got to on our stitch along with "the embroideress" and i must say that this piece when finally done will be stunning ... just not overly pleased with the charts that we both have ... we bought this kit a long while back and the charts have lots of information missing so its a case of scratching our heads and making a "we'll go with this " kind of decision. Any ways here is my progress up to date :
the first picture is the whole lot so far and the 2nd one is a close up of the bit at the bottom ;0
was so pleased with what i'd achieved i decided to do a new start and guess what i chose ??????????

Yep you guessed it the Celtic Autumn :) by lavender and Lace

I started it last Sunday night and I'm stitching it on a
piece of Polstichers fabric Fallen Leaves ....it is an absolute dream to work with hence the "flying needles as you will see from my  progress pictures ..lol  . the first picture was taken on the Monday and the 2nd was taken on Wednesday and I've done a wee bit more since then ..lol
I will keep you updated as I go along ... the colours are the alternative ones which are for me more like "proper" Autumnal ones ... my eldest dd keeps cracking the whip so that I get it finished soon and then she wants me to start on the Winter one !!!
I did some work on the last of my humbugs (set of three for my bedroom) as my UFO nights work on Thursday night so by next week it should be finished ready to sew up and stuff and then I will post a photo of them all done :)

Where does the sticky tape come into the scheme of things I hear you puzzling ;) well as some of you know DJ is having a bit of a rough time of it at present so I made her a get well card and sent it to her and as she's got it and loves it I can share it with you all now .
And finally I was sat in my little craft room the other day as the rain was coming down onto my lovely flowers, I went out to capture my patio rose while it still had some rain drops on it .... ( it was still raining as I went out too ..lol).Well i shall leave you all for now and go and get some more stitching done ... sigh its a hard life being a stitching mouse!!!! teehee  xxxxxxxx

Have i been a busy mouse :)

well hello folks am finally back in the land of normality (if you can call my little house normal ..lol)
things have been so hectic with one thing and another that i don't know where to start ... i've had a lot of appointments recently and a few more to come due to my pesky condition but hey ho that's life lol .

Must say a cheery hello and fingers crossed to DJ if you manage to read this ;) will be thinking of you and hope all goes well over the next few weeks :)

I managed to become a fairy godmother to one of my friends on the stitching group as it was her birthday and she had got tickets to go and see Rod Stewart at the Birmingham NIA but due to circumstances beyond her control had been left without any transport so as i was free i picked her up and off we went after much talking and yummy food we got there and even managed to find a very nice man who got us his visitor pass so that we could park on his road which was two hops skip and a jump from the NIA . we tootled of into the arena and found our seats got comfy and the curtains went up .... such good timing :)
The show was fantastic and we even got up and waved to we are sailing :) before we knew it the show had ended and then we had the wonderful task of getting out of Birmingham which with the sat nav was slightly easier than getting in ..lol
We turned up at Maureen's house very late and had a midnight snack of cheese n onion on toast scrummmmmyyyyy ;) a couple of hours later after we had finished chatting we retired to bed .
The next day dawned very sunny so we spent some time in Maureen's lovely garden admiring the plants and sitting in the sun ... i did turn a slight pink colour woops !!! we then went to look at Maureen s stash pile and i must say she has more than me !!!! just needs to be organised slightly ..lol
any ways all good things come to an end and i had to trundle back home later that day.

On the stitchy front i've got my Judy Dixon piece back from the framers and it is now proudly hanging in my bedroom :) . Other than that i've  re started to catch up with "The Embroideress"  so hopefully a photo next time on how far i've got :)

take care one and all and i shall squeak more soon xxxxxxxxxx

UFO updates and a little finish or two :)

hi folks , hope this finds you all well and not suffering form any colds etc that seem to be springing up around here atm due to the inclement weather. doesn't know whether the sun wants to shine or rain pour down on me :(.
well i've been rather busy stitching on my UFO "The Castle " by TW  this last week and i thought i'd show you my progress ... i seemed to have been merrily stitching away and not got very far till i actually looked at my last pic of where i had got up to and now i can see that the hard work has paid off and no MR Frog yipppppppeeee !!!! so here is an update picture :) i can't wait to start on the dragon and am almost there on the chart :)
I've also finished a ufo that i started in December last year hoping to get it done for Christmas but sadly life as it does got in the way but it is now ready to hang for this year after a wee pressing and a bit of ribbon n beads to hang from it .I've got a snowman to do that will hang opposite (once stitched .lol)  on my fireplace.

I decided i wanted a break from doing something large so i picked a humbug design that was designed by Val of the friendly stitcher's and had a go ... i stitched it on Polstitches hand dyed fabric called Dragon shades which i received in an exchange a few years ago and thought ooooo i know what would look good on this hahahaha so here it is :) and i've started another two and my MIL now wants one ;) I've stuffed it with wadding and lavender from my garden that i dried last year :) and it is now hanging on my wardrobe door:)

I thought you also might like to see the finished result of my youngest dd's room which is now apparently the best room in our little mouse house ..lol. One down a few more to go ..lol. I asked her if she would do it again and said "i'm going to get a professional decorator in next time it was sooo hard ..lol" well hopefully she will use her new found skills sometime in the future :)
well i think that this is all my news for now so i shall sign off.  t.t.f.n
take care one and all and squeak to you all soon :) xxxxxx

Time flies when you're having fun ..lol:)

Hi everybody hope this finds you all well and stitching to your hearts content or at least to how much time you have to do it ..lol

Well i'm in trouble from my eldest dd for not saying that she came to knaresbrough with Ally and i  and that she picked the colours and frame for my Celtic Summer , she wants me to stitch all of them NOW !!!! so that she can have them in her own house when she finally gets one ..lol
I have been very busy teaching my youngest dd how to decorate her room (wall papering and painting) and how to sand the floor and stain it.  I'm pleased to say that a good result is achieved all round and she should move back in tonight :)

On my stitching front i'm pleased to announce da da da daaaaa that i've finished simple blessings and not only that but its framed onto the canvas and up on the little easel too :) its to remind me of my friendship with Abi and that she introduced me to friendly stitcher's :)

I've also re put The Castle back onto my frame and have started to put more stitches into it. I'm going to stitch a couple of small items in between doing it as well as finishing off the Beau Bands designed by Abi . I'm ready to start at page 3 now so i shall show you how its progressing :)
It hopefully will be a hussif once completed lined with the same colours of silk dupion as the stitching to hang at the side of my stitching chair in my craft room / conservatory to hold things like pkts of needles etc :)
I've also stitched a piece for an exchange which i shall show once its been received as its late going off due to the plane stoppages as well as a letter to DJ ;)

I think this is all for now so i shall get back to my little room and get on with a bit of stitching for my sanity ..lol
take care one and all :)

Hectic few weeks

Hi everyone hope you are all enjoying the wonderful weather we seem to be having here in mouseville :)
I went away down to my friend Abi's which is abit like escape to the country where her house is as it is really  beautiful :) for a few days r&r as there was a stitching show on at the NEC. It had the costumes from the film the duchess on show which we all  admired and then we shopped there till we dropped and met up with some friends, one who came back with us Ally :) and then we stitched and yackked and did some more stitching. Abi and i are doing a stitch along everytime we see each other of the Jane Greenoff's "the embroideress" which is a really good job we are as i think we got the charts pre amendments !!! the hemstitch square caused an awful lot of problems and i've still got to finish off the weaving n doves eyes :)
the photo shows what i did while i was at Abi's :) i am now enjoying this piece more only 3 more pages to do ..lol .
Ally and I came home back to my pad on the sunday we set off at 1.45pm and got home at 8.45pm eeekkkkk !!! it was a horrendous journey part of the motorway was totally shut of and we had to do a detour around chesterfield re joined the motorway to hit some roadworks agghhhhhhhh.... all we can say is thank goodness for classic fm and american hard gums and a bit of galaxy chocolate !
well needless to say the next day we were both shattered and spent the day recovering and pottering around my craft room coming up with ideas on how to improve the layout :)
we decided on the wednesday to nip over to knaresbrough which is a lovely town about an hourish from me to see what its like and although it was cold n sunny its a lovely place and lots of lovely little shops the best one was the old pharmasists as it sold yummy chocolates heheheheh ;)

here is a view from the castle  and we saw this place and all i could say was i wants it !!!!!
I also got my celtic summer back from the framers and couldn't belive it was much bigger than the celtic spring and after haveing a good look at it i must have stitched celtic spring on 32 count linen instead of 28 ???? ho hum such is life can't change it now can i ???? ..lol
so now after taking Ally on the next stage of her journey home i did some stitching for a friend from the Friendly Stitchers who had a little girl so i stitched her a little ornament which is hanging proudly from her cot atm :).
After all that excitement i managed to get a small amount of gardening done with the help of DH and planted up my hay basket at the front which is looking lovely after a few days of this gorgeous sunshine we've just been having (it will probably rain tomorrrow now heheheh)
well i think this is all for now folks so i shall squeak off till the next installment of tales from a stitching mouse xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Rainy Saturday

What a rainy Saturday!!! after days of lovely weather here in mouse ville the heavens opened as if some one had left a tap on up there ...lol and today i was going to try and plant up a small hay basket on the front railings outside my little house .... i've bought three lovely primulas to go in ah well it will have to save till another day :)
i must admit to not being very well recently so i have neglected my stitching somewhat due to hands that decided not to work and a pesky chest infection:( but a few days ago i started to feel better and i was asked if i could make a couple of cards one for DH work and the other for my neighbours friends golden wedding so i shall bob a pic into show you all :)

the daffodils have started to come out in the front garden so i think spring must definately be on its way hurrraaayyyyyy :) . i've managed to do a small amount on my simple blessings so i shall let you see it in a mo but other than that i've not got much done at all . i hope that everyone is well in blog land and having better weather than me atm ..lol although i shouldn't complain too much as we need this rain . take care every one love mouse xxxxx
