A finish , a new start and I've started packing !!!!

Hi every one :) the kettle is on sooo pull up a pew , get comfy and enjoy the post :)
Well I had a finish on New Years day .... frosty flakes got finished and embellished too ... go me .....and I started Joy to the world also by LHN and I am now half way through it .... not tooo shabby a start considering I have been packing stuff away and not just mine either ...lol
I even have put in another couple of rows to my crochet blanket too .... really enjoying it when I do as you can switch off and don't have to concentrate to much heheheeh
I got my results back and I have got an infection ... well Sherlock I knew that bit ...lol and I have to go for some lung function tests in a couple of weeks as I need to be clear of antibiotics for four weeks and no coughing ... well the cough has died down an awful lot but it is still there a wee bit ...sooo we shall see and I know there is still some infection lurking around ....ho hum .... but otherwise I am loads better phew :)
Well to the packing side of the title .... Ally has moved from the second mouse house last Sunday to her new wee pad nearer her work ... and for some one who only had a one bedroom flat she sure had a lot of stuff ... now she has the wonderful pleasure of unpacking that end now ... hopefully everything survived the journey ok ....and her bookcases are filled again with her favourite reads :) and that her craft corner is coming together ....
And I have been packing my craft room up in readiness to start the short journey to my new craft room ... DD and I have taken some stuff down there already and as the dresser was empty managed to shuffle it forward enough for some one to get round the back and finish the wall off it was lent against... hopefully this weekend we will be able to get some more done and I can take some more piccies for you :) we have been out and about and choosing wallpaper and furniture that will hopefully be purchased ready for the move eg a corner sofa ...sooo I and the DD's will be beavering away striping wallpaper and more than likely my MIL will join in the fun ... there is something satisfying about stripping ... of the wall paper kind heheheheh
I will be brave and show you the photos of the "old" room at the moment ...lol

In two weeks time as of today I will be entering into my last year of the 40's .... eeekkkk where does the time go ....and I have already received a wonderful present from DJ which is part Christmas and part birthday ... I had a sneak peep before it arrived as I had the choice of how I wanted it to be finished :) well I chose it to be framed as it was only 7x9 design ... welllllll lets just say it arrived in a much bigger box than I thought it would ...lol and it is absolouttteeelyyy gorgeous and all mine ...lol ... DJ found this pattern which I am lead to believe is a Merry mouse one and thought it was just me ... and I have to agree .... and the frame will fit into my new craft room perfectly ..... I will let the photos do the talking .... I haven't opened my card and am saving that for the big day :)
ok doke I need another brew ... I am awfully thirsty today and the boss and I realized at 4.15 that we had only had two brews all day till then ... she rectified it and we had another ...lol
Spring is also showing signs of arriving and I have managed to take some very blurry photos ... not sure if its me or the camera ..lol  more likely to be me ....
photos on way .....

Spring.....Spring.....ha, don't you dare mention that word....just got back from snowshoeing...
My sewing area, sadly, looks like yours whether I'm coming, going or staying in one place for a bit....sadly!

Ack! You LIKE doing wallpaper? No, no, no. No more for me thank you.
My oh my, you have your hands full with that craft room.

I am glad you are FINALLY feeling a bit better! Can't say I've ever had the 'pleasure' of stripping wallpaper, so I'll have to take your word for it. Goodness your craft room is in a state isn't it? It looks an awful lot like mine at present and as I am not going anywhere, what is my excuse? Darling stitch finish too!

Last year of your forties? You're still a youngster! Glad you're feeling better.

Mmm stripping wallpaper? I always start off with good heart and high expectations but that fades remarkably quickly. Good luck with that! Lovely projects. Irene xxx

The forties were okay... :) You are doing some cute stitches that I still need to do! THIS is the year! Your craft room is quite FULL! I am not sure mine would take up that much room, but... then again, it is spread between several rooms in my house. My office, my bedroom, and the family room... maybe... Ack!! Hope that you get to feeling 100% better very soon! Hugs!

Frosty Flakes is just adorable. Glad to hear you are a bit better. Hope the tests will show you are almost there. We must be soul-mates! My DH does not believe there is another person who likes to take off old wallpaper!!! He thought I was absolutely crazy when we took down 40 some rolls of old nasty wall paper!

Leaving your 40's isn't so bad, you can do naughty things and blame your age!!!

Oh Mouse, you craft room looks like mine only I'm not moving. Seriously, mine looks like a tornado went through there. Can't wait to see the new mouse house studio!

I had to smile when I saw the little mouse rocking by the fire because that was one of my very first projects when I began stitching in the early 80s... Unfortunately, I never finished it :( Yours is darling!!

Happy early birthday, Mouse--I'll be 60 tomorrow so I don't want to hear any whining about turning 49 :) You are still very young!

Karoline said...

Cute finish, congratulations. Your picture from DJ is lovely.

Good luck with the move, sadly my stitching area looks like that most of the time.

I'll be turning 49 in August, I don't feel my age at all...except of course for my knee that feels 90 some days. Your craft room is going to be wonderful! I have a room that I would love to convert to a craft room but I would need to negotiate with my husband for that. :)

o my, your craft room looks like a treasure trove lol! I would think you'd want to stay there forever but your new room is quite fabulous too.

Glad you're on the mend and that the doctors told you what you already knew, hah.

Lovely gift, I think that's a Merry Mouse design too! I got a little booklet of them for free at a thrift store; they're quite adorable.

FF looks ever so sweet and snowdrops! aaaww! I don't remember seeing one in my life before, we call them "bucaneve" (literally snow piercer).

What a perfect picture for your new craft room. You certainly have got a lot of packing to do. The problem is for every box you pack, you have to spend an hour browsing the contents first!

Frances said...

Sorry you've been sick but hope you'll bounce back quickly!
Your stitching photos are lovely!
Enjoy the last of the 40s!!! I'm in the middle of the 50s, and they aren't so bad!!! HA HA
Exciting to move the stitching room--wish I had a nice big space!!! Show us yours when it's done!

Hope you are on the mend, Mouse. Oh my....your craft room looks like an amazing treasure trove - - how ever do you remember what you have?!!! Love the mouse stitching, it's gorgeous! Please keep showing us pictures of spring, it's the only way I can survive the winters here....minus 22 the other day - no fun at all.

Sorry to hear that you were feeling under the weather.

Wow, packing up your craft room is quite the task! Mine would be overwhelming as well. Good luck organizing it at its new location.

Congrats on your New Years finish. Frosty Flakes is adorable.

Your framed gift is simply wonderful.

Glad you are finally getting to feel better. It seems a lot of people have had the lurgy for a long time. My sister's partner is the same and is having tests etc.

Lovely stitching and ooh packing up your craft room. Not that is going to be quite a job!

Gorgeous gift from DJ :)
