Stuck for a title ..lol

Hi every body :)
well I have sat here trying to think of a witty title for today's post and nada, zilch, nothing sooooo there isn't one hehehehe ....
I've been shopping so there are plenty of choccie biccies to go round today along with the usual tea and coffee so grab a mug, pull up a chair and we shall  begin ;)
those wee blue flowers in my hay basket are called Lithodora heavenly blue  while I remember ...lol
The weather at the mouse house has been very changeable and has gone from washing hung out and drying outside to being on the radiators inside as we have had one extreme to the other including a hail stone storm .... I know we are not having it  as bad as some but I do wish the weather would make up its mind ...lol

The trouble with doing secret stitching for folks is you haven't got a lot to show folks for the long awaited blog posts hehehehe..... I have finished the one for Catherine  as the tusal winner but need to finish the box to put it in .... hopefully will get that a bit further on tonight or tomorrow :)
I'm about half way mark on DJ's stitching and I am loving stitching on this one :0 once its done she can see it and decide how she wants me to finish it :)
I've worked on Needles by Cherrywood  designs each week when we have gone to Bev's for stitching night with the Barnsley Babes as we have been nicknamed ...lol and yes she baked some more yummies :) I showed Bev how to do spider web roses for the second  part of my Band sampler .... every one is really enjoying doing this on the group and the colours that they have  picked are all lovely ... I would be hard pressed to say which I liked best :)
and I've worked on the Sal "Summer Splendor" by LHN with Sally  on Wednesday night and I am really pleased at how much I got done in between all the yackking ;) in fact I was giggling at my copy as the chart actually says "Summer spendor" .....

On Saturday Kath , Chris and Bev and I went to Bakewell for the day with me driving the mouse mobeal .... the weather wasn't particularly warm to say the least but with a chip buttie and a cuppa to fortify us after we had been shopping at the Wye Needlecraft shop there .... we went for a walk round and found some lovely shops and the odd bargain .... I found a scissor frog for Ally finally so she shall have one now too :) and there were some "real statues" raising money for some cause and I managed to get a lovely photo of them for you :)
the drive home was fun as following the signs we nearly ended back on the route to Bakewell again hehehehe ..... I didn't buy any real Bakewell  tarts much to DD1's disgust but at £5.00 for a large one that wouldn't have done  two of them really, I wasn't going to splash out. I did how ever have a wee splash out on stash ..... no where near as much as the others either ..... felt positively angelic on that score ....lol
I got some thread there too  to start a birthday prezzie for some one who's birthday is quite soon and I am hoping to get it done on time paws crossed ;)

Yesterday was a rare day when DH and I actually had time free soo we decided to tidy up the back garden and plant some potatoes in pots and tubs before the rain fell again .... it was lovely to get most of the small garden weeded and sorted ..... he did the heavy work , I did the raised beds ....  there is still  a bit to do along with the front garden but that will have to wait until it is a bit warmer .....
I went to visit my friend Carole the other day and her pheasant "Phil" popped into see us  with his partner and luckily I had my camera on me to take some photos for you :)

Ok I have popped the kettle on again for you while I upload the photos for you to nosy at ...lol

DH has been on the comp a lot on an evening so I am trying to get round folks while I have my breakfast :)
ok think I have waffled enough sooo take care every one and I shall squeak to you soon :) love mouse xxxxx

Such a beautifully delicious blog, Mouse. I can taste the delicacies, well almost, but I really can enjoy the stitching progress and the scissor frog.
I just got the rest of the thread needed for Summer Splendor. It's the prettiest little piece. Got to do it.
happy day, babs

Oh Mouse! This was a very enjoyable post & I enjoy seeing all the photos but yowza! I have GOT to have me some of that Thorntons Hot Chocolate! So is there an eatery somewhere called Thorntons or ??? I would plan an entire vacation around a cup of hot chocolate like that!

What fun youve had! Chocolate foods always seem to go so well with stitching and stitchy outings :D And I love your updates, good job :)

I've had those 'blank blog title' moments myself. Hate it when that happens!
Love that flower frog! They are so hard to come by around here (well, in decent shape and reasonably priced they are hard to find anyway!)
Nice stash enhancement!

I adore Millionaires Cake yummy. Lovely photos and stunning new stash. Love the Just Nan Bluebird Sampler one. Yes we too had that hailstorm it was strange watching it from the window it looked like little golf balls dancing on the lawn! Glad you had a good time in Bakewell x

Beautiful flower frog! Great new stash. I love Summer Splendor. Wonderful pictures.

Now this is a tempting blog...just trying to figure out if I was more tempted by the food or by the stash enhancements:-) Love your stitching projects you can show and curious to the secret ones. I love your band sampler part 2, but didn't meet the spider stitches yet.

I like all the picutes so much I had to go around a couple of times more!

Wonderful photos today, Mouse! I wish I has a pheasant come visiting my backyard, your friend is lucky. Your "Needle" WIP looks fantastic on the tan gingham fabric. I love this.

I hear you on the weather ! I can at the moment hear the wind and rain bashing the window and we had bright sunny days...ah well.
Great progress and you've got some really pretty projects going there I couldn't possibly pick one as my fav...but those buns now thats a different matter I think I'd need to sample one of each and the millionaires cake to..all in the interest of taste testing you understand lol. I think you were very restrained in the stash enhancement area and I just love the flower frog.

Your posts are always so much fun to read. It sounds like you had a nice time with your friends. Its too bad about the weather but I can relate. Where I live in the US, it rains constantly throughout the summer. It is no fun. Lovely progress on your projects too. :)

Oh I LOVE Wye Needlecraft, I really miss not being able to pop over there since we moved to Cornwall, but I think DH is secretly relieved!
You've got some lovely stitching done, the spider-web roses on your band sampler are really pretty.

Like Christine above I am feeling quite homesick for Bakewell where we used to go often before moving to Spain.
Love your Summer Splendor piece and oh, do you have to keep showing those cakes and the Thorntons treats as well!.

Great update - love the "needle" piece, haven't seen that one before. Where do you keep finding flower frogs? There are two things that you really must stop tempting me with - Summer Splendor, I must not start mine until I have some other things finished & CAKE!

Denise SA said...

Love all your stitching wish I could have come to Bakewell again but I would not have been able to walk around as sciatica still bad. Intrigued by your stash especially the one at the back.

Dawn of Spring is looking great, I'm really enjoying seeing all the different versions online. Will you do a big Round up photo collection of them all when it's done? Or a blog-hop so we can find new blogs!
I always name my posts after the main featured items but your titles would be incredbily long and always feature "cake"!

It sounds so familiar to me what you wrote: too many interesting things, too many plans, too little time (too short life - I'll need 100 years more - at least!) But Tildas are so beautiful I cannot resist them :D.

That "needle = ..." -sentence is so funny and beautiful, I like that very much!

Ooo, all your treats look so good! Especially the hot chocolate - mmmm. :) All of your stitches are coming along nicely, I love the deep colors in the Summer "Spendor". :) And what beautiful pictures of flowers and clouds! Oh and hail... Glad you were inside for that one! :) Enjoy your new stash!!

... I like the title ... and all of your newsy post. But showing all these delicacies has made my mouth water and I think I'll have to go and see if there's someting eatable in the house. But before I do that I have to say that I love your pictures with all the wonderful sweet things, and I love Summer Splendour. And your new stash. And the pictures with all the cakes ... lol.
