Melicent Turner started :)

Helloooo every one :)
thank you for all the good wishes ... test went well ... it was really weird watching the machine come over  me but it was painless so that was a bonus ,in fact I was soooo chilled I almost fell asleep ..lol ... I got to look at the images and it was really odd seeing a thin me hahahahaha .... I've to ring up about the results in a week ish ... as I don't go back to see the consultant until end of June .

I managed to get a tiny bit of stitching done on Melicent Turner LHN ... I am stitching it on a coffee coloured even weave with the recommended crescent colours .... I am not happy with the letter A as it looks wayyyy to light but hopefully when the border goes around it , it will show up more ???
Has any one actually finished this? and how many skeins of weeping willow did they use ??? as I re looked at it today I get the feeling I may need more than the one skein ,  although it doesn't say this ????

My threads arrived today for the Country Cottage SAL I am doing  ... I did a wee happy dance when I saw what they were sooo all being well on Wednesday when both girls are in to look after Bentley I shall be able to get started on it *VBG

our (the girls)  little man has been out socializing today and went in the car to pick up DD2 from work and then went visiting ... and then a friend came round for a cuddle especially to see him ..... he has been very good with the training process and has found his voice too ... he sounds soooo funny ... and he has been very brave and ventured into the big wide world of the garden chasing DH round ..lol.
soooo I shall leave you with the progress photo and some more awwwww photos ...lol
Melicent Turner day nine LHN

being bashful

take care every one and happy stitching until tomorrow ..... off to go and catch up with you all hopefully at any rate .....love mouse xxxxx

Great new start Mouse. Its always a worry when one of the threads don't show up so good but once the border is around I am sure it will be fine. Your new 'baby' looks well and truly settled x

Love your new start! If I were you I would order and extra skein of the color in question, I have had two LHN designs need and extra skein of a color in the past.

Love your new puppy! He is adorable!

Great start Mouse, and I'll bet that you'll be happy with the thread when you get the other colors into your piece. I think the lighter thread gives it a little bit of a time worn effect, don't you think?

And smooches to your puppy. He's so adorable.

Another lovely new start. I like the lighter thread and the aged effect it gives the sampler.

A darling puppy Mouse! You can always restitch your "A" if you should choose to do so...

Ohh Mouse, love Melicent Turner, look forward to seeing much progress. After thinking that Bentley was black and white, is he a liver boy?

Lovely new start. I have had similar concerns regarding colors being too light, but they always seem to work out fine in the end. Glad the test wasn't too stressful, fingers crossed for good results. Bentley is just too cute.

Glad your scan went OK Mouse. I'm supposed to have one every three years but I think they forgot about me after the first one!

Your new start looks gorgeous. You've picked such lovely starts I think I might end up a little enabled!

Cute, cute, cute Bentley pics!

Hi Mouse and Bentley
Well cannot leave him out can we.What a super bundle of mischief.
Hope you have enough thread , I have to get some for a chart I have but I think it is not available in this country -oh bother cause I only want one skein.
Hugs for you and Bentley.

Good job on your new start. Bently is just too cute for words.

I can see what you mean about the color of the 'A'. It would worry me too, but as it isn't too big, if it doesn't show up better with the boarder, you could restitch with a different color later. The puppy is adorable!! :)

TinaTx said...

Wonderful start!
If you are in doubt about a color, I would probably go ahead and get another - better to have too much than not enough and if it is an over-dyed color you might not be able to match it later. (been there, done that)
Are the puppy's eyes as blue as they look in the pictures?

Your Bentley looks just like my dog Norman, who died peacefully in his sleep at age 16. Your stitching is beautiful!

Jackie said...

Hi there Mouse. I hope your test result will be okay.
I think the "A" should look fine in the end.
As usual, you seem to be off and running with projects. I look forward to seeing them.

Anne said...

He certainly is a cutie!!! Lovely start on your Melicent Turner! I'm like you waffling over a colour on my sampler...not sure what to do. I am in half a mind to replace my colour that fades into the fabric. Perhaps you could find another one that is brighter?

Lisa said...

Glad the test went well and was painless, fingers crossed for all good results next week.
Lovely new start, and more scrumptious pics of Bently.
