Easter Blog Hop 2022

 Hi everyone , it is almost Easter and today is Jo' blog hop once again 

My photo is of an Easter piece I did many moons ago and mounted onto a box top . Of the top of my head I cannot remember the name of the chart but it was one that did the rounds.

My other photo is of some blossom taken today whilst out with my wee grandaughter for a walk to get her to nap ... it worked ..lol

Secret Sweet Valentine Hop

 Today is Valentine's day and I am participating in Jo's blog hop again where we are doing the secret valentine hop again  ....

I have received this beautiful lavender and lace stitched piece from my Secret Valentine and hopefully my valentine will reveal themselves whilst going round the blog hop ... details are on Jo's blog 

My choice for this year Valentine Blog hop included two hearts , one I received many moons ago(2012) from Lee ( notes from under a mountain) which is simply gorgeous and one heart that I stitched called the Stitchers Heart by LittleHouse Needleworks that was a joint pattern with Shakespeare Peddler ... (I did do both pieces of the collaboration  ..lol ) and these pictures have gone to my secret Valentine,  so I will need to go blog hopping to find who has them ..lol

Happy New Year

 Happy New Year everyone ... I hope you all had a lovely Christmas however you celebrated the festive season ... we spent the days with the family having meals out at the daughters, sooo not a pan or pot was used at the mouse house for the first time in 34 years ..lol whoop ....I got thoroughly spoilt with lots of goodies and the odd bit of chocolate .yummmm and I have some pennies to spend too :)

I finally got the extra sockets put in my craft room and my stitching chair is finally up in place and has been used these last few days soooo all is good .. still got a wee bit of sorting to do which should be finished this next weekend all being well 

Doing a tot up of how many pieces I got finished last year and I managed to get 15 done .. some of those were big projects too .. not as much as previous years but with the arrival of my wee granddaughter on top of my little man has made life a tad more busy and interesting as I had to virtually live there due to my DD having an emergency C section. And then 10 days before Christmas our wee granddaughter came to "live" with us while her mum and dad had a new kitchen fitted. as it was much easier for me to look after her here at the mouse house .. so not much got done stitching wise at all over that period ...lol , the house was definitely less full of stuff when she went back hahahahah

Master Bentley was a trouper with her and let us know if she stirred awake in her pram if we were in another room and  he had to check on her every morning to make sure she was ok too  ... Master Cooper has the role of protector and made sure she was safe at all times ...( she is never left alone with the boys btw just in case anyone worries about this )

I got some lovely gifts from my friends for Christmas and DH and I swapped our usual Toblerone's ,... we buy stuff throughout the year when we see things we want, soo when it gets to Christmas it is really hard so we have made a pact ..lol

I am on the last leg of Our Lasting Friendship which will be my first finish of 2022 , I am also trying to work on an ornie a month as a Sal with Tina and working on Sally's new birthday start, which is Winter Rose Sampler by Brenda Gervais and I have changed the house colour to GAST Cottage Blue just to be different .. mine is a very dark fabric Vintage Shilock by The Wee Linen Company and the recommended colour didn't show up. I have also started Bluebirds Message but not got very far with that at all at the moment but once OLF has been finished then I can get back to my rota of stitching again. 

Yesterday I took a wee road trip to The Viking Loom at York to meet up with a long time internet stitchy friend and her husband who had come over for a visit to the UK . I think her husband is a hoot in the enabling dept as he was you like it you get it ... said to my DH I need to borrow his philosophy when I go stash buying hahahhahah. We spent a pleasant few hours browsing and buying and for once her stash haul was greater than mine hahahahha

Today at the mouse house we are having a new gate and matching railings put up .. it is something we have been wanting to do for ages and they look really nice ...

then we just need to get the chimney swept again and the we can get the wood burner in :) update got a new sweep coming to see what the problem is with the chimney on Monday whoop whoop ... things are coming together :)

Well a few more days have passed ... the sweep came ... still clearing up the fine soot that gets everywhere ..lol 

I have my first cross stitch finish of 2022 .. Our Lasting Friendship by Blackbird Designs, stitched on 32 count country mocha fabric using the recommended threads one over two. I have worked on as well this week Bluebirds Message BBD, Feed your Soul , Primitive Merry Christmas and AOTH too .. trying to be good here ...lol

ok I had better find the photos otherwise my birthday will be here ( friday 28th ) and I will be 21 again hehehehe

JO's Christmas Blog Hop

Hi everyone .. its that time of year again Jo from Serendiptious  is having her online advent blog hop and today is my day , the theme is Christmas Tree traditions and whether you are a star, angel or fairy tree topper .... that bit is easy I have a fairy on my tree that is older than moi and had always been on my tree at home when I was a child ... I remember my mum giving her a new dress out of a scrap of lace when I was small ....

I am trying to stitch enough ornaments to have a stitched tree and along with those that have gifted to me I think I may make it for next year ... this year the tree hasn't gone up due to a couple of technical hitches ( me being ill, fire been ripped out and new hearth laid , sweep coming last Friday and now we are looking after my 11 week old granddaughter while her parents are having a new kitchen fitted and dining room plastered etc ... )

Our traditions normally, are to have the tree up and house decorated by the 6th of December as this is our wedding anniversary and then they are all taken down by 12th night. We normally buy one new ornament a year to hang on the tree so it is very eclectic in its look and colourway too ...

A Quick catch up :)

 Hello everyone ... long time no squeak ... hope you are all well and have been stitching away merrily ... the kettle has just boiled and I have cookies too :)

well this year has simply flown by ... I am now a Grannie to a wee girl who was born 4 weeks ago now by emergency C Section and she stopped breathing twice but all fingers and toes crossed is all well now ... I am there every day doing my bit to help mum recover and keep an eye on both my wee grands :)

Oh I forgot to say that everyone has now moved out so there is just DH , Master Bentley and I at the mouse house now ... aaandddddd I have moved into my new craft room too whoop whoop ... currently in the sorting out stage where everything should go etc etc etc ... My best friend came over for a few weekends and helped me clean and decorate the room before we took a trip to Ikea and got all the shelves and desks for it ... 

I haven't done much stitching at all these last few months and have only just started again and  doing an exchange piece for Christmas, which I am really enjoying getting to stitch again ...

not as tidy as this atm hahahah

Stitching through 2020

Hi everyone.. pull up a chair , grab brew and some goodies ... we have plenty left to nibble on ... 

well I hope you all had a lovely Christmas despite the restrictions that have been put on us all. I know we did as we have our wee grandson living with us as you know so it was really special for us this year despite the dratted virus.

I have been extremely lucky with lots of stitchy goodies been sent to the mouse house and a few bought by my DH ( guided by me ;) ) and I am looking forward to them being put to good use ...

I also sent out some gifts and the list this year seemed to have got longer as I made more gifts as a wee thankyou for my stitchy friends keeping me sane through out it all ....you know who you are 😁

I am going to try and make a collage of all the goodies otherwise you will be here till next year looking at all the goodies hehehehehe

Over the year I have kept a record of what stitched on, finished, gifted etc and up to press have managed around 60 things this year and one of those was a wee picnic quilt ... I am currently in the process of finishing off a lap quilt for myself too and brrr do I need it on my lap today as for the first time in ages we got snow ☃☃☃☃ .. it was that bad I worked from home ... my poor wee mouse mobile would not have got me there or back for that matter....especially if it freezes over night

Ok I've managed to collage my Christmas goodies amongst visits to York and Whitby in the photos and if you are careful you may spot my tiny elf ... who is now 7 and 3/4 mths old ... crawling, waving bye bye and saying hiya ... no toothy -pegs yet but he is managing to eat "normal " food quite happily  and loves pureed Sunday dinners ...oh and trifles too... I wonder where he gets that liking from hahahahah . We even managed to redecorate the spare bedroom as well amongst all the chaos and run up to Christmas and a wee pic is up of that too ... it is now much warmer and cheerier looking :)

there are some gifts I have sent that are missing from this lot hmmmmm will have to look for them for next time .... but I did find some to me that didn't make the original photos ...so bit of a bonus ...lolol

I hope that next year for everyone is better than it has been this ... so If I don't squeak to you before I wish everyone a happy, healthy stitchy/ crafty New Year 2021...
